Ali Kishiyama of Mayama has created a high intensity, low impact class that focuses on sculpting and elongating muscles, strengthening the core and raising the heart rate for a complete body work out experience. Students are led through a series of exercises at the ballet barre, on the dance floor, and on the mat that are designed to trim, tighten and tone the body. Barre Body exercises use isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.
